Privacy Policy
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
This policy applies to lilylibrary.com and its subdomains (the “Site”), which are owned and operated by Danlily.ai, LLC (“Danlily.ai,” “we,” “us”), a New Jersey business. It explains what information we handle when you read our free books, play our free games, or contact us. It does not cover websites run by others that we may link to.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
You can read books and play games without giving us any personal information. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message. We use it only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. Searches you type into the Site’s search box are processed in your browser and are not sent to us.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting systems automatically record technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the date and time. We use it to keep the Site running, secure and free of abuse.
- Advertising. The Site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google’s ad technology may use cookies or similar technologies and receives data such as your IP address and the page you are viewing. See “Advertising” below.
- Fonts and scripts. Some pages load fonts or code libraries from third-party servers (for example Google Fonts and cdnjs). Those providers receive your IP address and browser details when your browser requests the files.
- Information stored on your own device. Our games and books save things like high scores, sound settings, unlocked levels and whether you closed a banner, using your browser’s local or session storage. This stays on your device. We do not receive it, and you can clear it in your browser settings.
We do not currently use Google Analytics or similar third-party analytics to profile visitors. We do not ask for your name, address, date of birth, payment details or precise location, and the Site does not sell anything.
3. How we use information
- To operate, maintain and secure the Site and fix problems.
- To measure, in aggregate, how the Site is used so we can improve it.
- To show ads that help pay for a free library.
- To answer your questions and requests.
- To comply with the law and protect our rights and users.
4. Advertising
Ads on the Site are served by Google. Because our audience includes children, we configure ads for non-personalized, contextual delivery. That means ads are chosen from the content of the page, not from a profile of your interests or browsing history, and we do not use interest-based advertising or remarketing. Google may still use limited data for things like limiting how often an ad is shown, measuring ads, and preventing fraud. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop you from reading books or playing games, but it may stop saved scores from persisting. We treat a valid Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information, although we do not sell or share personal information for advertising. Our Site does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals, because there is no common standard for them.
6. Children’s privacy (COPPA)
Lily Library offers books and games for readers of all ages, including children. We take children’s privacy seriously:
- We do not require children to create accounts, and the Site has no comments, chat, or user profiles.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, and we do not use children’s information for behavioral advertising.
- If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without the consent required by law, we will delete it.
- If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information, email kparks@lilylibrary.com and we will review it and delete it on request.
If we add features in the future that collect personal information (such as accounts), we will update this policy first and, for children under 13, obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting anything.
7. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site (such as our web host and Google, for ads and fonts), when required by law or to protect safety and rights, and in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the past 12 months. In the past 12 months we disclosed technical identifiers (such as IP address and device information) and internet activity (such as pages viewed) to our service providers, as described above, for business purposes.
8. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy. Emails you send us are kept while we are helping you and for a reasonable period afterward, then deleted. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own schedule. We do not keep personal information about children under 13.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and request a copy of it.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, with certain exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of, but we honor GPC signals regardless.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information.
- Not be discriminated against for using these rights.
To make a request, email kparks@lilylibrary.com with “California Privacy Request” in the subject line. Because we operate exclusively online, email is our request channel. We may need to confirm your identity (for example by replying from the email address you wrote from) and will respond within the time required by law, generally 45 days. An authorized agent may submit a request for you with your written permission. Our categories of information are summarized in our California Privacy Notice.
Other California rights. Under California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code §1798.83) you may ask which personal information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing; we make no such disclosures. California’s privacy law for minors (Business & Professions Code §22581) lets registered minors request removal of content they posted; the Site has no such registration or posting.
11. Privacy rights in other states
Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws (for example Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and others) may have similar rights to access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of their personal information and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale and profiling. You can use the email address above to exercise them. If we decline a request you may appeal by replying to our response with the word “Appeal,” and we will review it and respond in writing as the law requires.
12. Visitors outside the United States
The Site is operated from the United States and is intended for U.S. visitors. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process the limited information described here based on our legitimate interests in running and securing the Site and, where required, your consent, and you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing and to complain to your local data protection authority. 13. Links and subdomains
Many books and games live on lilylibrary.com subdomains, and this policy covers them. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their privacy practices.
14. Changes to this policy
We review this policy at least once a year and will post any changes here with a new “Last updated” date. If we make a material change that reduces your privacy protections, we will give notice on the Site before it takes effect.
